Reminder re: Dress Code and Sunscreen
As the weather remains good, please make sure your child wears suitable clothing to school, in line with our dress code. Please apply sunscreen as well. We have been spending more time outdoors, so it is essential that we all stay safe in the sun.
Additionally, a gentle reminder regarding footwear: Crocs and flip-flops are not permitted as they pose a health and safety risk.

Positive Behaviour in RETNS in May
Code of Behaviour
As per the email sent yesterday to all families, we are focusing on positive behaviour this term with a weekly theme. We will remind you all of each area being worked on below.
01/05/25
This week we are emphasising the importance of using good manners. Next week, we will focus on how we move respectfully throughout the school. We would appreciate if you could speak to your child about this at home.
8th May 2025
This week, we have emphasised the importance of moving respectfully around the school. Key areas of focus include:
Lining up quickly and efficiently
Staying calm and quiet while waiting for the class to move
Being prepared to transition back into the school building after yard time or PE time Using quiet voices indoors and walking in the corridors
15th May 2025
This week, we have emphasised the importance of active listening. Key areas of focus include:
paying full attention
making eye contact and using open body language.
focusing solely on the speaker without interrupting.
23rd May 2025
This week, we have emphasised the importance of Empathy and Perspective Taking.
Using our restorative practice animals - this week we looked at the giraffe. He has the largest heart of any land animal and a long neck, representing seeing the bigger picture and acting from the heart.
Key focus: Teaching children to "see with giraffe eyes" — looking at situations from others’ perspectives.
Encouraging children to reflect on how their behaviour affects others and how others might be feeling.
29th May 2025
This week, we have emphasised the importance of Making Connections.
Using our restorative practice animals - this week we looked at the Crank the Croc. Crocodiles react quickly and snap without thinking—just like we might when we’re upset or overwhelmed. This week - we focused on showing kindness to a friend if they were feeling sad, offering to help someone who needed it and using respectful language and tone when upset or in need of support from friends/adults.
We kindly ask that you discuss each of the above with your child at home each week. On Fridays, we send emails to the families of children who have made an extra special effort in that week.
