2nd Class were the lucky kids to have a wonderful drumming workshop with Brian. Brian has borrowed a set of drums from Blackrock Education Centre. We don’t just have talented children, members of our staff have many talents too, and Brian is an accomplished drummer. All children from 2nd to 6th class will benefit from his talent and expertise as he holds drumming workshops with each class.
2nd class and Junior Infants had a busy week making scarecrows. Pop up to St Enda’s Park during Hallow’een to see them displayed and give them your vote!

As part of Maths week, 6th class students worked collaboratively to create a Maths Trail for 2nd class. Then they took groups of 2nd class children around the school environment to explore all the elements of the 2nd class Maths curriculum. Armed with lots of resources including tablets, the 6th class children guided their Maths buddies through a range of problem solving skills throughout the school. Second class children showed great inquiry skills and loved the challenges set for them by the 6th class boys and girls. The 6th class boys and girls have to be commended for their leadership and for helping the younger children develop their Maths skills. The weather was great and we had a great time focusing on STEM.

We have all enjoyed the beautiful sunflowers in our Community Garden. Riia and Ruby from 4th class travelled around the school with their camera to see how the sunflowers have inspired artists at work. They hope you enjoy their photos taken in 2nd and 5th classes and in the community garden. Maeve
2nd class had great fun this afternoon harvesting the carrots they planted earlier in the year. We look forward to tasting them tomorrow.
Harry brought us in a great book by the artist Christopher Niewman. He uses everyday objects to create his art. We decided to make drawings inspired by his work. When we finished working with our own objects, we swapped and made other drawings using new objects. We photographed and printed our work when we were finished.
