Claude Monet inspires

Second Class have had a busy few months working hard.

In March we learned all about France and we even tasted some macaroons. We were inspired by Claud Monet’s painting ‘The Water Lilly Pond’ and we recreated it using oil pastels.

Country Projects

All the children in the class chose, researched and presented a project on a country of their choice. They worked very hard on these projects and I was very proud of them when they presented them to the class. We learned a lot of new facts about these countries.

Dance Workshop from Emily Kilkenny Roddy

On Friday the 20th May, Emily Kilkenny Roddy from Crunniu na nOg came in to do a Dance workshop with us. We has great fun learning a dance and performing it at the end. We also got to play musical statues, which is always good fun.

World Bee Day Posters

We also celebrated world Bee Day in Second Class. We read the story ‘When the bees buzzed off’ by Lula Bell and Stephen Bennett to understand the importance of Bees in our world. We also came up with some ideas of how we can help the bees and we created lovely posters outside our door to show other classes.
