RETNS celebrated World Book Day with many different events taking place over the week. Jan organised the annual Book Swap and children really enjoyed swapping their books for a new story. “The conversations from the children around choosing a book was fascinating”, reported Jan as each class visited. Many thanks to Jan for her time in organising the Book Swap and to everyone who brought in books. In between the D.E.A.R activities in each class, the whole school shared a story writing activity based on different objects and we shared our stories during Fridays assembly. We also had a visit from a storyteller in J.I, 1st and 2nd. Junior and Senior Infants had great fun having their photo taken by Ronan with the Green Screen and getting “transported” into some of their favourite books. Finally, a big thank you to Sarah and all the parents who have been helping out in the library. It continues to be a lovely, relaxing reading environment for all our young, enthusiastic readers.
