My thoughts on the 2019 Book Swap.

We had another successful Book Swap this year with fantastic participation from all classes. Thank you to all students who swapped books and to their parents who helped and encouraged them to do so. This whole-school event is a wonderful way to build on our students interest and enthusiasm for reading as well as reinforcing their sense of whole-school community. It also promotes the idea of re-use of unwanted items  and gives students an opportunity to experience the joy of passing something on. There are some books left over which will be donated to the library or to each class  for their own class libraries. Thanks to everyone who helped out to ensure that it all ran smoothly again this year. Looking forward to next year already!

My thoughts on the 2019 Book Swap.

By Alice Tammemagi, 4th class.

I think the Book Swap was brilliant for students! It allowed us to bring in books we didn’t want anymore and swap them for ones we do want! I got 5 books at least, and they are all great! Now I have a new favorite author I had never heard of before! It encourages kids to read more and not to throw old books in the bin just because we don’t want them. Others could really enjoy them! I think the Book Swap was great, and we should do it every year!
