Final rehearsals are taking place, both performances are booked to capacity and we are all looking forward to Winterfest 2017, our whole school performance of Peter Pan. Here are some pictures from our dress rehearsal to give a flavour of what’s to come!

On Thursday 17th October 1st Class attended a ‘Nuts about Nature’ workshop in the Rediscovery Centre, Ballymun. The Rediscovery Centre has been developing and delivering environmental education workshops for schools since 2006. In the words of the children themselves ………….
1st Class visit to the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun was very fun. We made a food chain and we learned about biodiversity. We went on a bug hunt. They showed us a coat made from an Ikea bag, a guitar made from an old wardrobe, a skirt made from an old blind. We planted plants in a bottle that you don’t need to water – a terrarium.
Then we had a relay race at lunchtime. After lunch we played a big game of snakes and ladders. ASK for a trip to the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun!!!!!

1st Class sowed some potatoes and did some drawing in the Wildlife Garden in April. Already the potatoes are growing well. Have a look at our slideshow of potato planting and the children having lunch and drawing in the garden.

1st Class have been very busy during Spring! Besides learning all about St. Bridgets Day at the start of February, they planted their own bulbs and celebrated Chinese New Year by making dragons. They visited the DSPCA and learned all about the animals rescued within the Dublin area thanks to Gillian, Jack’s mum. Here are a selection of photostories from a few of their activities. Enjoy!
