Our annual fundraising event for Educate Together will be held this Friday, 25 October. As is our tradition, the children and staff will dress in Hallowe’en costumes for our assembly. As parents, you will be aware of the fundraising we need to do for our own school. However, this fundraising is for Educate Together which is the national representative organisation for equality-based schools. Educate Together is a charity that must fundraise in order to
- provide support for Educate Together schools
- develop teaching and learning resources including the Learn Together & Ethical Education curriculums
- open new equality-based schools so that other families can experience our equality-based ethos
- advocate for equality in education
For every €1 received by Educate Together:
- 55c is spent on managing and supporting schools including our own
- 40c is spent on opening new schools
- 5c is spent on funding and administration
With your support Educate Together can work towards providing more schools which will guarantee equality for children of all cultures, religions and social backgrounds, fostering interaction and understanding, and ensuring that Ireland’s future generations are best prepared for the 21st Century.
The suggested contribution for participation in our Hallowe’en assembly is €2 but I encourage you to be as generous as possible so that as many children as possible can benefit from attending an Educate Together school.
