Reminder

A separate email was sent to all families giving dates for class meetings. Please check the date for your child’s class meeting as parents are often disappointed if they inadvertently miss this meeting. Please note that a second email highlighted a change of dates for 2nd and 5th classes.

Yoga Poses

The Yoga Pose for weekly homework can be found on a poster outside Rebecca’s classroom.

Community Garden

Please take time to look at the Community Garden when visiting the school. There was great excitement in Patricia’s class yesterday when they harvested their carrots and Darren’s class will be harvesting their tomatoes too.

Walking bus

The Walking Bus is a great start to the day, even on cloudy days like today. We would love to see as many families as possible join the Walking Bus. If you would like more information or would be willing to be included in the driver rotation for your route, please contact the current parent co-ordinator Deirdre Doyle, (deirdremdoyle@yahoo.com).

Development Committee

The RETNS Development committee will meet on 24th September at 8pm in the school, primarily to discuss fundraising events. New members are always welcome, so don’t be shy.

You can be involved in specific events or on a longer term basis.

In particular, please come along if you can help out with the organisation of events such as the Craft Fair on 2nd December or a fun(draising) table quiz on 25th October!

Mother Tongues Talk

We are aware that many RETNS families speak 2 or more languages at home. We are also aware that it is not always easy to know the best approach to raising bilingual children. Mother Tongues is an organisation that specialises in this area. They will be giving a talk on the benefits, challenges and best practices in raising bilingual children later this month. The talk has been organised by our friends and neighbours in the Nutgrove & Loreto Community Association. RETNS are supporting the event and we’d like to invite all interested parents to attend.

Talk: Raising Bilingual Children in Ireland

Venue: Nutgrove & Loreto Community Centre (Beside the school)

Date: Saturday 15th of September

Time: 2-4pm

AOB: Tea and Biscuits afterwards. Stay for a chat – in any language!!

Le dea-ghuí,
