From 24th – 28th April it was Active Week in RETNS. We just want to write this short message to you about the week. First, the Active Committee made posters the previous week encouraging active participation in the Active Week. We stuck these posters around the school. We also used the Blackboard space in the shed to pass the message to the children.

Each class was encouraged to follow the Active Trail which is spread throughout the school grounds. Each plaque has information about Flags of the World, Shapes and Exercise prompts. We encouraged children to have a quiz at these plaques with the Active Committee members in each class doing Quiz master.

Everyone got active homework for the week. Everyone was given a sheet with about 15 activities described in small boxes. Each person was encouraged to pick three activities a day and colour in the box when they had completed the activity. All the activities were fun and easy for the children to accomplish. At the end of the week , 6th Class played an Olympic Handball match against the staff. Sixth Class were victorious !! (Yay!)

On Friday 28th everyone wore sports jerseys to school. Some classes decided to play Hot Seat as their active activity.

We hope everyone enjoyed Active Week, moving more all while having lots of fun.
