There was a great response to the ‘How Fierce is your Dodder Monster?’ competition, in which the children, either individually or in groups, made their own monsters out of the kinds of litter found on river banks. They named their monster, said where it lives and why it is a threat to our River Dodder. This is part of our work towards our Global Citizenship – Litter and Waste Green Flag and part of our on-going active citizenship work. Through their participation in the Dodder Project we aim to help children to become aware of the responsibility we have as global citizens to protect our environment and to realise the part they can play in becoming good global citizens. Prizes for the scariest monsters have been donated by Rathfarnham Bookshop and a selection of the monsters will also be part of a special exhibition in the local library. We will have our own Dodder Monster Exhibition on the hall stage on Friday, February 3rd. Here is a small selection of Dodder Monster photos.
