Chinese New Year and Martin Luther King Day
Posted in News on 07. Feb, 2014
Chinese New Year has certainly brought a splash of colour to RETNS as many classes celebrated “The Year of the Horse” by creating classroom displays and learning about New Year customs. Some children even chose to celebrate in traditional costume! Check out all the lovely lanterns, calligraphy, dragons and other art as you travel around the school.
Martin Luther King Day provided an opportunity for children to reflect on the whole concept of equality and freedom. 5th class expressed their own thoughts about freedom in poetry, and Senior Infants wrote about their personal dreams after hearing about MLK’s famous speech.
