It doesn’t take much snow for children to enjoy it. We had some very tiny snow people appear in the school yard today.
On the 20th of December 5th class were told that they were going to make ginger bread houses with Emily’s mom. We went into the back stage room and we started to cut the ginger bread into the shapes of walls and roofs with the help of lots of moms. We were also able to make ginger bread men when we were finished. Emily’s mom took them home to bake. Then the next day she brought them back in for decorating them and sticking them together with icing. Then we let them dry and took them home.

The school will remain closed on Thursday 23rd December for health and safety reasons due to the severe weather conditions in the South Dublin Area. School will re-open on Monday 10th January 2011. We wish all our children, parents, guardians and staff a happy and safe holiday. Sinead
With the wintry weather slow to thaw, we will continue with our arrangements for coming into school in the run-up to the holidays. Be extra careful on the side roads and paths leading up to the school as mixed conditions will remain for a while. Children should stay off the grass area even if the snow disappears as the ground will be mucky and waterlogged. Come into school along the path and straight in the front door to the hall. Children are reminded that school starts at 8.50 and so should aim to be in school by this time.
Dear Parents/Guardians and Children,
The school will re-open tomorrow Monday 6th December 2010. The side roads and footpaths around the school remain in poor condition so we advise extra caution while driving or walking. Children should wear suitable shoes or boots and if possible have a change of shoes for indoors.
The school will remain closed Friday 3rd December for health and safety reasons as the weather situation is still hazardous in the South Dublin area. A text has issued to all parents this evening. A further text will issue Sunday night if the school is NOT opening on Monday morning based on weather conditions at that time. Keep safe and well.
